They are so exclusive you probably haven't heard of them. You cannot purchase them, one can only receive them as a gift. They are quite small but are packed with more tasty walnut flavour than you'd find in the stores. You will not find these anywhere else but New Zealand. I have a whole jar of them.
Ngatapa Walnuts
Or I did have.
I have discovered that one can't have one's jar of walnuts and eat them too.
You are right. I never heard of them before. :)
ReplyDeleteMmmmm...nothing like homegrown :)
ReplyDeleteI've got a tree overflowing with tangelos at home, sweeter than candy :)
What ??? They weren't even shelled!!! You can't have received many - no wonder they didn't last long !!!
ReplyDelete@Baltagalvis - I was actually being a bit cheeky, Ngatapa is the name of my sister's farm! ;-)
ReplyDelete@Doug - You betchya! Tamarillos? We were provided a lot of them at boarding school. They were always too tart for me.
@Mum - ooooh there was more than what you see there, and more than a jar-full! I figured I better get a photo before they were all gone!!

ReplyDeleteWell you'll just have to do something to make Ngatapa want to give you one! It's the only way to get them ;-)
